Football - Altrincham and District Amateur Saturday Football League Feb 2 edition
10:35am Monday 30th January 2012
JUST three matches went ahead as scheduled in the ADAFL at the weekend as the dismal weather conditions continued to impact significantly on the fixture programme. In Division One, Kartel Sports missed a penalty with the last kick of the game against Sale Rovers to squander a guaranteed share of the spoils. Jordan Loftus’ second-half goal ultimately proved enough for Rovers who now sit in eighth spot. In the other game played in the top flight, Broadheath Central JFC ‘A’ came out 3-4 winners away at Salford AFC despite a spirited second-half fightback from the home side. The visitors found themselves 4-0 ahead at half-time but two successfully converted penalties from Pez Anderson and a goal for Danny Jones brought Salford within a whisker of securing an unlikely point.
In Division Two, second-placed Broadheath Central FC drew 1-1 away at third-placed Swinton FC as the gap between the two sides remained at two points. All four Broadheath Central Cup first round ties were postponed.
Postponed matches in Division One: Atlantic FC vs Sale Town, Old Alts vs AFC Quarry, Sale Amateurs vs Egerton FC and Sale United vs Wilmslow Sports.
Postponed matches in the Broadheath Central Cup First Round: Flixton Juniors vs PFC Academy, Northenden Victoria vs Baroni FC, Sale Town Reserves vs APFC and Unicorn Athletic vs Broadheath Central JFC ‘B’.
