Procure Plus makes strategic appointment to drive new build projects forward

4:27pm Thursday 26th January 2012

OLD Traford social housing procurement consortium, Procure Plus, has appointed Steve Brindle to the newly created role of development executive - new build.

As part of the position, Steve will be responsible for driving forward the organisation’s recently launched New Build Brokerage Model, which uses volume procurement and collaborative purchasing strategies to help Registered Providers (RPs) achieve significant cost savings on social housing projects.

With over twenty years’ experience in the housing sector and boasting extensive knowledge and expertise in the construction industry, Steve is best placed to launch the model into the new build social housing sector and engage more small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the process.

As well as ensuring the scheme delivers best value and to realise an average 15 per cent reduction in unit price per home, Steve will be responsible for making sure the landlord’s bespoke requirements are achieved on each and every project.

Commenting on his new role, Steve said: “This latest investment reinforces Procure Plus’ commitment to maximising social enterprise, regeneration and development. I look forward to delivering the New Build model and I’m confident that we can offer a unique and cutting edge opportunity for RPs, as well as contractors and SMEs working within the housebuilding sector. By employing an aggregated approach, we hope to open up the market place, creating hundreds of sustainable jobs, and stabilising the housing market for the future.”
