RMS scoop top awards
10:29am Monday 5th December 2011

Altrincham-based PR and marketing agency RMS is celebrating after scooping two awards at last week’s North West PRide Awards and being shortlisted for a European Excellence in Communications Award 2011.
After entering the PRide Awards for the first time, RMS took home two awards - Best Campaign £10,000 and Under and Consumer Relations - for their sweet tribute to Wills and Kate, created for sweet manufacturer, Swizzels Matlow.
To coincide with the Royal Wedding RMS worked with Manchester mosaic artist, Mark Kennedy, to produce a life like mosaic of the fabulous couple made of Love Hearts.
Furthermore the agency’s Save Our Seafarers campaign, designed to raise awareness and demand action on piracy in the Indian Ocean, has been shortlisted for a European Excellence in Communication award. The campaign is in the top five European PR projects managed on behalf of Associations.
Ruth Shearn, managing director of RMS, said: “As an agency our ethos is to enter our clients into awards but this year we thought we’d give it a go. Our mosaic campaign for the Royal Wedding worked so well because we dramatically increased overall sales and achieved over 90:1 return on investment for Swizzels Matlow.
“Being nominated for a European award for our mixture of PR, design and web work for Save Our Seafarers is the cherry on top. What a fantastic year for RMS.”
RMS was briefed by a round-table of global shipping organisations to highlight the plight of more than 400 seafarers currently held hostage by Somali pirates and the impact of piracy on the global economy.
This year’s PRide Awards had in excess of 1,000 entries and the awards scheme showcases the best PR work being carried out across the UK regions and nations.
The European Excellence Awards are hosted by Communication Director magazine and the winning campaign will be announced at a gala dinner in Amsterdam on Thursday.
