WHEN the going gets tough, the tough get going is the motto for Loreto Grammar School's irrepressible netball stars.
The hot shots from the Altrincham Catholic grammar school came back from 7 -2 down against arch rivals St. Bede's to win the north west regional title 10-9, sealing the victory with almost the last shot of the game.
Their memorable triumph means they are still on course for national glory with their final fling at the English National Schools title.
Now at under-19 level, the year group have previously reached the national finals three times making the actual final twice as under-14s and under-16s, but both times failing narrowly at the final hurdle.
Captain Beth Castell said “togetherness” is the team’s biggest asset and the national finals take place in Basildon on March 17.
