Teacher helps our Heroes
11:20am Saturday 4th September 2010
URMSTON teacher Nicola Gregson is preparing to take part in the ‘A Bridge Too Far Bike Ride’ in September to raise funds for Help for Heroes.
The 350 mile bike ride takes place in Belgium and the Netherlands over 5 days, and is timed to coincide with the anniversary of ‘Operation Market Garden’, an important WWII battle.
Over 200 cyclists from all over the country are taking part, and pupils from Flixton Girls High School, where Nicola teaches, are helping her to reach her £2500 fundraising target.
Nicola commented - “This will be an amazing physical challenge, but it is also especially important for me that I fundraise for Help for Heroes as my brother is a royal Marine. This is my way of showing him and other servicemen that I appreciate what they are doing.”
